On occasion, couples ask if they are able to break up the hours photography coverage included in their wedding day. They would like 8 hours for the day, but only want 12pm-2pm and 5pm-11pm covered. Most photographers would likely respond that this is actually an 11 hour day, but doing the math…how does that make sense?!
Although the couple technically only wants 8 hours of coverage, they are still requiring that the photographer set aside the full day. A photographer would be unable to book anything else during the hours of 2 and 5pm and they also wouldn’t be able to go home and take a nap or book another client during that time, so their day is still reserved completely for you.
It is common in the wedding industry to require the hours of photo coverage to be consecutive for this year. If you aren’t sure or if your contract is unclear, be sure to bring it up with your photographer.
