Last year, Kat & John had reached out to me to schedule only an engagement session. Two days after meeting them, they knew we would be the perfect match for each other and invited me to also be a part of their wedding day. Even months later, it’s still one of my favorite stories to tell because they ended up being some of my favorite people.
Although we can’t quite figure out how on earth the months went by so quickly, somehow Kat & John’s wedding day countdown went down to just single digits. While they did their best to focus on the big picture, they couldn’t help but squirm a bit when the forecast called for a 95% chance of crazy storms and flooding. Of course, being the ninja that I am, I had my own plans to make sure they still received the photos they dreamed of having. Once I explained my plan of attack, the almost-newlyweds finally felt they could breathe and go back to putting all of their attention on getting married.
I had backup plans for the impending storms, but I also did an anti-rain dance. On the morning of their Kutztown, PA wedding, the forecast had changed to zero percent chance of rain. Coincidence or results of my dance? You be the judge ;-).
The blush and navy combination offered such a romantic springtime feel. The soft pinks and slight sparkle truly added to the elegant tone of the day.
Once the excited couple finished getting ready at a nearby hotel, they made their way to Folino Estate, anxiously awaiting the moment when they would first see each other.
As John stood awaiting his gorgeous bride, Kat quietly walked towards him. She tapped him on the shoulder, his face lit up, and he held her in the tightest embrace. While I was far back during their moment together, I can only imagine how many times John told Kat how beautiful she looked!
After sharing a few kisses and sweet words, it was time to a few quick photos. When we had initially met for their engagement session, they explained that they weren’t very comfortable in front of the camera. Of course, not even five minutes later, they were laughing and acting like complete naturals. Knowing how fun and relaxing their engagement session was, they were at total ease for their photos this time around.
Katerina’s sweetheart corset-back Allure gown from Sweethearts Bridal and John’s tux from Men’s Wearhouse made them look nothing short of amazing. Tanya Guadarrama used her hair and makeup skills to enhance Kat’s greatest features and the sweet charm bracelet, gifted by her groom, was the perfect accent to Kat’s look.
The bouquets, skillfully designed by Forever Yours Florals, were filled with soft mix of pink roses and blue and cream peonies. The flowers looked so full and definitely gave off the romantic vibe that the newlyweds had envisioned.
After just about 4 years of waiting, the moment finally arrived. In front of those who meant so much to them, John and Kat promised forever to each other, finally making it all official!
During their search for a wedding venue, the couple fell in love with Folino Estate for their decor and simple elegance. Amanda and her staff executed the romantic vision perfectly, including just the right amount of detail to pull the room together.
The new Mr. and Mrs. swayed across the dance floor to Michael Buble’s Close Your Eyes, as their parents and loved ones watched with tear-filled eyes. For Kat and John, the rest of the room seemed to have melted away, as these two fell completely into the moment together.
We snuck outside for less than two minutes to grab just a few more photos, just the two of them, officially as Mr. and Mrs. Every time I look at this photo, I completely melt. The love in this image can actually be felt and tells such a strong story about their relationship. You can see John thinking about how he will do anything to protect and care for this girl, as Kat snuggles up to the guy who makes her feel so safe, valued, and excited for the future. (Have I mentioned how much I love these two together?)
Although this cake may look fake, it was actually the tastiest strawberry champagne cake, designed by the talented The Well Dressed Cake!
Towards the end of the reception, I asked if I could steal them for less than 5 minutes for a quick photo. Immediately after explaining my idea, they were quick to agree and ready to run outside. I couldn’t be more thrilled with what we were able to create in just a few short minutes!
The newlyweds are scheduled to view all of their wedding photos at the studio once they return from their honeymoon and am I so, so excited for them to relieve their day!
A huge thank you to all of the amazing vendors who helped make this day so memorable for Kat & John!
