I never thought I’d be posting a winter engagement blog post of a couple wearing sweaters…and nearly sweating!
Shooting with a coat on can be uncomfortable, so I really love when I’m able to get by without one. Crazily enough, I probably could have also gone without a sweater because it was SO warm…I was sweating minutes after the session started. Jessica had shown me the cutest cold-weather outfit months ago that she planned to wear for the session but the unseasonably high December temperature (of almost 70º!) forced her to go to plan B. Of course no one complained about the warmth. How great is it to have a winter photo session and not shiver, even a bit?!
These two had similar weather-luck a few months back, when they had the first half of their engagement session. The days leading up to their September session had been cool but the weather changed drastically the day of their session, with nearly record-high temperatures.
Planning a wedding in the Poconos, Chris joked that it will probably snow during their April wedding (it’s crazy to think, but it’s even snowed in May in the Pocs!). Based on the warm weather they always bring along with them, I think it’s safe to say that there won’t be any snowflakes making their presence on the day of the wedding (it’s also probably safe to say that if you’re planning a vacation and are hoping for great weather, you should ask Jessica and Chris to come along!)
Longwood Gardens is so gorgeous in the daylight but it also transforms into a Christmas light wonderland in the evening. I made sure that we scheduled at just the right time, giving us day, dusk, and night photos all in one session.
Having never had been to the park. Jess and Chris wanted me to be able to take it all in a bit. They pointed out a few of their favorite spots and gave a little tour, along with tid-bits of information. We even saw a water show, similar to the Bellagio fountains. The park ended up being far larger than I expected – we walked nearly six miles! It was totally worth it though, based on the variety of photos that these guys will be receiving in their gallery!
