They were giddy as they told me about the surprises they had planned for their wedding day. As the months went by and she saw photos of other KMP weddings, she could barely hold in her excitement for her turn. Mary and Greg’s wedding day finally arrived and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day for their beachfront wedding (80 degrees in October)!
Mary had a little pocket sewn into her dress, to tuck her late father’s badge into. Having a police officer in my family, I am a big supporter of the blue, and I wanted to truly honor his memory. I incorporated this little cop car into a few photos, as a sweet little surprise for Mary.
While Greg was in on a couple surprises of the day, Mary had one of her own that she was keeping secret. As everyone peered down the aisle awaiting her arrival, she made her appearance via a little boat!
As Mary made her way down the aisle, surprise #2 was revealed: She had decided to skip tradition and instead wear a gorgeous navy blue wedding dress.
Between the multi-colored leaves and calm water, the beachfront at Lake Naomi was such a lovely setting for Mary and Greg to exchange vows.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds snuck away for a few photos together. Again, the background – gorgeous!
Once formal photos were wrapped up, they enjoyed mingling with their guests during the second half of cocktail hour. They had one last surprise planned for the evening – a choreographed dance to Burning Love, which they had been practicing for months!
The celebration was definitely full of life for the duration of the evening! The dance floor was packed and laughter carried throughout the entire venue. As Mary and Greg celebrate each year of marriage, I know they’ll smile when thinking about the day it became official!
