It’s almost impossible to believe that I met Allie and Matt for their engagement session over a year ago. As cliche as it sounds, it really DOES feel like it was only yesterday. The days leading up to their wedding just seemed to whip by, thankfully, since we were all so anxious with anticipation.

Despite having had lived in the Poconos, I’ve never been to Skytop Lodge. ย The photos Allie had shared with me over the past year left me beyond excited to finally see the venue in person. As soon as I arrived, I instantly knew why she and Matt had chosen it as their wedding location.

Becoming increasingly popular over the years, Allie and Matt opted for a first look, which allows ย couples to experience an intimate moment together prior to the ceremony.

A light drizzle, eventually turning into a heavier rain, began moments after the ceremony commenced. I’d place bets that these two didn’t even notice – they were so focused on the reality of the moment of the official forever.

Allie had her heart set on outdoor photos and while we couldn’t run around the garden as planned due to the rain, we totally made it work.

The two had decided on a smaller wedding and as they day drew nearer, wondered if they made the right decision. As the reception went on, Allie told me how happy she was to have her closest loved ones present. Both she and Matt were able to spend more time talking to each person and the lower guest count certainly didn’t stop the dance floor from being filled or from laughter being spread throughout the entire room!
