It was freezing and the sky was looking grey, yet that all changed come Friday morning. The temperatures rose way above average and there was no sign of a possible raindrop anywhere.
When I arrived at Katelyn’s parents’ home, she was still away getting prettified. Her mom brought out her dress for me to photograph and I really think I let out a gasp. This dress is gorgeous!
I noticed her parents’ wedding picture in the corner of the dining room and couldn’t resist this shot! I think Katelyn noticed me take it out of her corner of her eye…and fell in love.
A true daddy’s girl, we decided it would be a good idea to have a first look. In a span of 10 seconds, there was a rush of smiles, tears, and laughter. I’m sure everyone around could feel the emotion in that moment.
Talk about classy dogs, huh? Not only were they dressed up fancy, but they also drank water out of wine glasses! Just minutes before Katelyn was supposed to walk down the aisle, one of her puppies nestled in her dress, causing it to rip. While most brides would probably have a heart attack, she shrugged it over. With so much anticipation of seeing Brandon at the end of the aisle, I don’t think anything was going to bring her down.
I was lucky enough to have a FULL HOUR of photo time of just Katelyn and Brandon. As I was shooting, I couldn’t resist telling them how amazing they looked and how I couldn’t wait for them to see the end results. They actually asked a few times if I meant it. I’m sure once they see the pictures they’ll know that everything I had said was an understatement!
(Brides, I highly suggest incorporating this amount of time into your day…and you’ll see why!)
Lots of details. A photographer’s dream!
The night was finished with my very first sparkler shot ever! I absolutely loved doing it and now a part of me wants to give a nudge to all of my brides in the direction of sparklers!
