The Portrait Experience

Chain photography studios, otherwise known as “cookie cutter” or mall studios, have a standard set of “poses” for each client. In other words, every client receives similar images, removing the uniqueness from your portrait session.

One of the best things about choosing a professional photographer is that your session can be tailored specifically to you! Your photo session, whether it be family photos, photos of your children, or couple’s session, should allow personalities to shine. I don’t go by a “shot list” that I follow during every portrait session, instead I allow our time together to unravel naturally, to best tell your story and document who you are in this moment in time.

This is why we will meet prior to booking. It is so beneficial because it allows us to get to know each other prior to the session. Most importantly, you want to avoid those stiff, “posed” photos, so you want to be sure that you feel comfortable and relaxed around the photographer you choose.

I will never ask you to decide how many finished prints you would like before your session takes place. After all, how could you possibly select from something that doesn’t even exist yet? Instead, I encourage you to just focus and enjoy your portrait session experience!

Following your session, you’ll view the edited photos and be able to ask questions prior to selecting your print collection. I’ll be there to guide you through your selections, offering suggestions for products and sizes best suited for you.. Whether it be mounted prints, albums, or metal prints, I just want you to leave with what you absolutely love. That’s it – no high pressure sales.

I understand that professional photography is an investment. This is why I take the extra steps to ensure that your experience working with me leaves you nothing short of thrilled and excited every step of the way! Read on to learn more about what to expect.

Say Hello

Send a quick hello here, telling me a bit about what you are seeking. I will email you with more details, and if it sounds like the type of experience you’re looking for, we’ll set up a date to meet.

Let’s Meet

Email is great and all but nothing beats true human interaction! We’ll discuss planning your session, such clothing ideas and decide whether an indoor or outdoor session suits you best. You will also have the ability to page through magazines I have been published in, as I explain print collections and show you product options. Once all of your questions are answered, we will formally book your portrait experience!

Your Portrait Experience

On the day of your session, don’t worry about a thing! Just relax, have a great time, and be ready to create memories. I will guide so your posing feels natural…and don’t worry – I promise to never, ever say “look at the camera and smile”.

Photo Reveal After Party

Cozy up on the studio couch and indulge in ice cream as you view your images. A box of tissues is set nearby to wipe those happy tears!

Following your image reveal, I’ll guide you in selecting the best images and sizes for your home, showing you exactly what canvas and metal prints will look like on your wall. This will totally eliminate any guesswork when deciding if a specific size or image will work with your space.

I want this to be an incredible experience for you, ensuring you leave only with what you want and love!

Delivered with Care

I absolutely love seeing your reaction to your print memories, so I encourage you to pick up your final prints and products from the studio.

Of course I understand this isn’t feasible for everyone, especially when traveling a distance, so I do offer delivery at no additional fee. Your printed memories are carefully packaged prior to making their journey to their new home.
