She walks in holding her parent’s hand, a little unsure of what the day is all about. She glances at the gowns, her eyes widen, and suddenly her whole face lights up. By the time she slips into a dress, she is beaming, already excitedly talking about her favorite things.
That is the heart of the Dream Dress Experience. The gowns are beautiful, of course, but this is not really about the dresses. It’s about focusing on her goals, her dreams, her interests, and most of all, her confidence.
During the session, I guide gently while keeping things fun. Beginning with a few practice twirls, girls nearly instantly warm up and begin laughing, eager to talk about what they’re most passionate about at this stage in life. Shortly after, the camera becomes nearly forgotten, as she immerses herself in conversation and feeling carefree.
The photo reveal adds even more to the experience. Families return to my Sinking Spring photography studio to see the photos on the big screen, and the reactions are unforgettable. Girls beam when they see themselves, excitedly pointing out their favorites, as happy tears slip down mom’s cheek.
Parents tell me the confidence doesn’t stop when they leave the studio. Their daughters keep talking about the experience, remembering what it felt like to be encouraged and celebrated. I’ve had parents share that their daughter will sit in bed at night, looking at her photos on the wall with a smile spread across her face.
The Dream Dress Experience is more than a photo session. It’s an opportunity for girls to be reminded of their strength, to see themselves in a positive way, and to know they can achieve anything. Families looking for children’s photography in Berks County often tell me these are the photos that become their most meaningful keepsakes.
The Dream Dress Experience is more than a photo session. It is a chance for girls to receive encouragement to be themselves, reminded that they can achieve anything.
