There are a few things you should make sure to remove before your photo session; otherwise, you’ll be unable to overlook it when you view your images.
Hair Ties
It’s quite common for girls to keep hair ties or scrunchies on their wrists for convenience. In photos, however, that small accessory can become a distraction, drawing attention to it in every shot.
Your Watch
It’s a good idea to remove your watch before your photo session, especially if it’s a smartwatch. Watches can be bulky and may draw attention away from the overall image.
Nail Polish
Freshly painted nails in neutral tones can add to your photos, but be sure to check for any chipped or worn polish.
Temporary Tattoos and Markers
Temporary tattoos and marker drawings on hands and arms are often overlooked before children’s photo sessions. Sometimes kids even apply these on the way to the photo session! Take a moment to check and ensure none of these are visible on your child’s skin.
Sunglasses
This tip is specifically for outdoor sessions: be sure to leave your sunglasses in the car! You don’t want to look back at your photos and notice them resting on top of your head or tucked into your front pocket.
Empty Pockets
One commonly overlooked detail before starting family photos is emptying your pockets. It’s best to remove items like your phone and keys to keep them from being visible in the images.
Keep in mind, the above are not able to be removed without extensive editing, which incurs additional fees, so be sure to run through this list prior to your family or child’s photo session to be sure you don’t miss anything.
