The photo reveal is hands down one of the most exciting parts of the whole experience. A few days after your session, you’ll be invited back to the studio, offered to indulge in snacks (hello, ice cream!), and watch your photos on the big screen. Forget squinting at your phone at midnight, scrolling until your eyes blur, and getting nowhere. The reveal usually ends with parents laughing one second, tearing up the next, and admitting, “Okay, this is nothing like scrolling on my phone”.
The lights dim, the slideshow starts, and suddenly you are laughing, gasping, and maybe even tearing up as the images roll by. Parents tell me all the time how different it feels to sit back and experience the photos together, rather than hunched over a small screen trying to figure it out alone.
During the reveal, decisions come naturally. You’re not staring at two hundred tiny thumbnails, feeling frazzled. We go through everything together, already narrowed down to exclude duplicates and overwhelm, and within about an hour your favorites are chosen and ready to be sent to print. Even better, you’ve even received guidance of where you’ll be displaying all of your new memories in your home! No weeks of putting it off, no “I’ll do it later.” By the time you leave, it is all done, and you are walking out excited and relieved.
If you want to prepare ahead of time, think about where you would love to see these photos in your home. The living room? The hallway? A special album for your coffee table? Having a general idea helps when it comes time to choose, but I promise the process is simple, stress free, and even fun. With my software, you’ll even be able to visualize exactly what your prints will look like displayed on your walls!
The reveal is never rushed. We laugh, snack, and relive the session as the images play. Parents often tell me this part was just as meaningful as the session itself because it is the moment the memories shift from “just pictures” to something real they get to enjoy every day.
