Angela and Bill started their wedding planning last summer, just a little more than a year before their July wedding. A the day grew closer, they so grateful they had started early it had greatly reduced any wedding-related stress.
As belly butterflies, eager anticipation, and happy tears filled the getting ready rooms, I tucked myself into a corner to begin photographing the little details that may have been otherwise forgotten. So much time was put into finding the most perfectly fitted dress, the rings they’ll wear forever, the jewelry so carefully selected….I want to make sure they remember it all.
Happy tears began flowing as soon as “I can’t wait to marry you” notes were exchanged and continued all the way through their official announcement as husband and wife.
Angela tried to hide her disappointment when she explained that Bill hadn’t written her a letter or gotten her a gift. Tears instantly welled in her eyes when she learned that there was no way he was going to miss out on surprising her. Anyone else getting super emotional looking at this photo of Angela?!
Angela asked Bill what the moment was that he was looking forward to the most. When he responded “the moment the doors open and he saw her”, she became teary-eyed because it was exactly what she was thinking.
This photo is my favorite from the entire day. I have looked at Bill’s expression nearly a hundred times now and I continue to melt. Even though Angela and Bill have also seen this photo a few times now, I absolutely plan on having a box of tissues on my coffee table for when they see it again at the studio!
Chatting with Bill’s mom, I learned that this would be the fourth generation of their family to marry at Alsace Lutheran Church! I’m all about sentimental ties in weddings, so I was so happy that she shared that with me!
The church coordinator wanted to start cleaning up so he could head home. I asked for three more minutes so we could create this. I am so ridiculously happy that he agreed!
Angela and Bill loved the idea of Fish Pond West in Reading, PA for their reception, which is tucked away in a private setting. They were also fond of the idea of their reception having ample space for outdoor photos and plenty of area for guests to roam and mingle.
Instead of a traditional wedding cake, they had a tasty tower of cupcakes and an ice cream bar! Guests have been loving this new trend, excited to indulge in a cold treat with their favorite toppings
Being typical July weather, it was a bit too warm (okay, a lot too warm) earlier in the day for photos. We decided to wait until closer to sunset to take a few more photos together, when it would be more comfortable (it was still pretty darn humid and gross then, too!). Mid-way through the reception we snuck away to laugh together and take a few more “finally Mr. and Mrs” photos.
The newlyweds have spent the past week in bliss, celebrating their marriage with adventures in Orlando, Florida! I’m so excited for them to come home so we can plan an ice cream date for them to view all of their photos.
Thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your day <3
