Some of The Worst Business Advice I’ve Received

Over the years, I’ve found myself in numerous online photography groups and forums. One of the more popular topics covers whether or not to send couples surprises after they book their wedding day. I’ve lost count as to how many times I’ve read that it’s a waste of money to add any extras and that all the “surprise” couples need are great photos.

If you’ve followed me online at all, you know I’m a lover of surprises. I get fidgety when I see the “out for delivery” message pop up in my inbox, knowing that an unsuspecting recipient is about to have their day made a little brighter. Does this take away from some of the profits I could be making? Sure. Is it worth spending some money to show how much I appreciate my couples? Well…

Would this fall under the absolute worst business advice ever? Well, maybe not, but I do think it would be a poor decision to take away this part of my business. Offering little surprises along the way allows me to have a connection with my couples and helps take the edge of wedding planning craziness. I’d say that’s totally worth it!
